ATTN BLOGGERS: CRABB IS STAYING
After Kuff and others told us about a rumor regarding the imminent retirement of arch-conservative Joe Crabb from the Texas House, one of my readers (Jessica W) investigated and found out the truth. Here's her message:
I called his local office and they tell me he is NOT retiring and he is “absolutely, definitely” going to run for re-election.
His aide thinks the rumor started with the list of those Reps who are eligible for retirement after the House voted to raise their own pensions. The aide was quick to add that Crabb voted against the raise, not because he doesn’t feel that Judges deserve a raise, but because he does not believe that Reps retirement income should be tied to Judge’s retirement. The aide added that Crabb thinks that a Reps pension should be tied to teacher retirement . . . . . blah, blah, blah . . . .
Well, that puts an end to that rumor, too bad.
