Is it safe to come out?

That's what Republicans are saying today as most of the marches and rallies have been completed--all successfully. 50,000 in Houston. An around the US, HUNDREDS of thousands, I would think more than a MILLION, marched.

Why comment, when you can see the Houston March in photos! Thanks to IndyMedia Houston for posting these.

Reverand Jesse Jackson had this Op-Ed in the Sun-Times.
Something to think about? Was the movement undercut by opportunistic politicos talking the "stay in school--don't protest" line?
Out East, a responsible, insightful school administration declared that students that attended protests would be given extra credit. If only our own Saavedra had been so insightful.
Meanwhile, a school out in San Diego became a virtual prisons as it was locked down and fences GREASED to prevent "escapees." Ahh yes, the Republican way--lock 'em up without a court order or without adequate legal defense. It's Guantanamo on our own land.
Burnt Orange Report reports on the Austin Marchas.
PDiddie provides some good thoughts, as well as a link to the Chrons blog, which seems to have been taken over by "conservatives." I'll go further and call them the "conserve our race" crowd.
San Antonio had 18,000 marchers. MYSA's Jaime Castillo had a thoughtful article today.
Even Port Arthur (CD-2) came out! And thousands marched in Amarillo!
Thousands more in El Paso.
