Dicky and Nugent: Match Made in Hell?
Perry and Nugent Wore Matching Outfits for Pre-Show PhotoshootsAfter speaking on tolerance and even going so far as to sounding supportive of immigrants and their children at his inauguration, Gov. Dicky found a venue in which he could easily wink to his followers so as to show them he's only lying and pretending to like 'meskins--the inaugural ball. He hand-picked the entertainment for the night--the sheetless and untalented bigot Ted Nugent.
Nugent appeared onstage wearing a cut-off T-shirt emblazoned with the sure-to-draw-headlines Confederate flag and shouting some unflattering remarks about non-English speakers, according to people who were in attendance.
Oh yeah, if anything gets foofy (you gotta be 1/2-way foofy to pay $75 AND be invited to this event) republinuts excited is some hairy, no-talent racist doing things they've been held back from doing by the guest of honor. As Dicky's mouthpiece tells us: "Most people had a really good time and enjoyed the show."
Sure, we'll get those that will say it's a part of "our" history--the flag that is. Until Texas and America starts admitting that all the "old south" was a terrorist attack on America, then all the bigots are doing is celebrating slavery and hate. I mean, really, who celebrates being attacked from within our borders? Do we celebrate Timothy McVeigh, who some could argue had the same anti-American tendencies as those in the confederacy?
And the media does it's own brand of idiocy, stating that Nugent only attacks immigrants. He attacks anyone different--people with accents, non-English speakers, etc. Again, the media proves it is a waste of space.
So, what gives, Dicky?
State Rep. Joaquin Castro (D) San Antonio said it best: "This is clearly not the behavior of someone who's ready for the national stage. It's a sign of the times for the Republican Party. It's a divisive party. Perry knows his views and to feature him front and center, that alone says a lot."
