Celebrating Cesar E. Chavez...

The 8th Annual Cesar E. Chavez Parade will be held March 31, 2007, Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. The parade will begin at Thomas A. Edison Middle School, 6901 Ave. I Houston, TX 77011 and end at Hidalgo Park, 7000 Ave. Q, Houston, TX 77011 in Houston's East End. The Tejano Association for Historical Preservation thanks Principal George Martin for his support, encouraging community participation and allowing the parade to begin at Edison Middle School."

In honor of Cesar E. Chavez and his struggle to improve the working and living conditions and rights for Migrant Farm workers, this year's parade will be marched in the manner of his marches that took place when he was alive; therefore, no animals, floats or vehicles will be permitted." Strollers, wagons (pulled by adults), bicycles, scooters (non-motorized), skates, will be allowed and any other vehicles that are non motorized may be included.
