Riddle's Anti-Latino Mouth Begins to Move

As my friends at South Texas Chisme have posted, Debbie Riddle has begun her attacks on immigrants and Latinos as she and the GOP prepare to renew their targeted onslaught on 1/3 of the population of Texas.

Riddle will be the first to say she's not talking about all Mexicans, but her mouth has proven that she is an an anti-public education zealot, which really, affects Latinos, African Americans, and even middle class white folks in my neck of the woods.

Riddle is out of touch with her constituents, with Texans, and with reality. She wants to live in her own little bleached world where they all speak some sort of English (I like my midwestern accent, but those fake Bushy drawls give me earaches!), and where everybody has the freedom to think how they want, as long as they all agree.

Riddle has an opponent, Brad Neal of Spring. I met him and he was working the room of the event I attended. She's got some ethics baggage, so let's hope Brad goes after her. And let's work and fight for a Democratic majority in the Lege!

My buddy Vince, has more:

Rep. Leo Berman, R-Tyler, told the committee that he wants to see legislative proposals in 2009 requiring voters to show photo identification to prove their citizenship, penalizing employers who hire illegal immigrants, and paying for local law enforcement to train officers to enforce federal immigration laws.

We all know that Voter ID has about as much to do with illegal immigration as a pile of cow manure has to do with the price of Diebold stock. Even so, Berman and his colleagues throw this in along with everything else.

Someone needs to remind Riddle that "illiterate peasants" is already taken!
